Birds’ Eye View: PREVIEW – Eagles-Texans

Houston Hate Week. Gotta love it.

The Philadelphia Eagles (7-0) travelled to Houston to take on the Texans. In the same respect, the Philadelphia Phillies are taking on the Houston Astros in the World Series. While the Eagles look to add another win just because, the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants, both (6-2), are fighting for second in the division while the Washington Commanders look to make a comeback from a rough start to the season.

The Eagles-Texans game that was originally scheduled to air on Amazon Prime nationally and Fox 29 locally. Due to the rain delay in Game 3 of the World Series, the game will now be shown locally on PHL 17. The World Series will continue to air on Fox 29.

The Eagles have never lost to the Houston Texans and it shows. In 2018, the team dominated in a high-scoring game, 32-30, headed by Nick Foles.

But now, both teams really want a win. Philadelphia looks to stay undefeated on a short week, but Houston really needs to make something happen at home against the Eagles.

Though the odds are in the Eagles’ favor, this is not an excuse for the team to let up and go easy now. The Eagles are without star defensive tackle, Jordan Davis. His presence is felt on the field throughout the season, so the team needs to perform like he never left.

For the Texans, they’re the epitome of “Next Man Up” right now with many guys out.

Betting Models:

Spread: Eagles -13.5 (-115), Texans +13.5 (-105)

O/U 45 (-110)

Eagles ML: -750

Texans ML: +525

Prediction: Eagles 31-17

The Texans are having a rough season – the Eagles are not. I think the wide receivers are going to have another great game because the Texans give up double-digit points.
