With the NFL Draft just a few days away, let’s take a look at each NFL team’s biggest needs heading into the Draft so they can guarantee success next season.
Today, I’m analyzing the NFC West, who’s also had a quiet offseason but could definitely benefit from the draft. I especially want to see a few of these teams try to sneak their way into the first round.
San Fransisco 49ers
Overall Draft Picks: 99, 101, 102, 155, 164, 173, 216, 222, 247, 253, 255
Key Needs: OT, CB, OG, OC, S
Potential First-Round Pick: No first-round pick.
Seattle Seahawks
Overall Draft Picks: 5, 20, 37, 52, 83, 123, 151, 154, 198, 237
Key Needs: OG, EDGE, WR, CB, LB
Potential First-Round Pick: CB, Christian Gonzalez from Oregon
Gonzalez possesses a unique skill set that the Seahawks could benefit from. He has incredible leverage for his athleticism and doesn’t panic under pressure or in mistakes. He has a laser-sharp focus on the QB at all times and his speed and length power him forward to attack.
Los Angeles Rams
Overall Draft Picks: 36, 69, 77, 167, 171, 177, 182, 189, 191, 223, 234
Key Needs: OT, OG, EDGE, CB, LB
Potential First-Round Pick: No first-round pick.
Arizona Cardinals
Overall Draft Picks: 3, 34, 66, 96, 105, 168, 180, 213
Key Needs: CB, EDGE, DT, RB
Potential First-Round Pick: EDGE, Will Anderson Jr. from Alabama
Anderson Jr. has incredible athleticism that would make him go early in the draft if not for a team in need of a QB. His power and hand usage could aid in the defensive holes that the Cardinals had last season. If Gannon can use Anderson Jr. right, the Cardinals might be in for a major defensive facelift thanks to this powerful Alabama talent.
