Birds’ Eye View: PREVIEW – Eagles-Giants

The Philadelphia Eagles (11-1) are right up the road against NFC East division rival New York Giants (7-4-1) for the first time this season. Both teams look to add another win for different but very valid reasons just in time for playoffs.

Both teams want to win the game on the ground today for many reasons. The Giants are likely to win on the outside where the Eagles have struggled. The Eagles had a hot streak lately including Jalen Hurts’ back-to-back NFC Player of the Week awards. The weather plays a huge factor. The game comes down to who has a better offensive day, which means both defenses are going to step up, too.

It seems like after having a hot start, both teams are moving in opposite directions. A win today would be ideal for both teams to improve their playoff odds, but the Eagles would really benefit since they clinch a playoff berth if they win today.

Eagles’ Keys to Success

  • Stop the run – including QB
  • Turnovers
  • Let Hurts ball out

Giants’ Keys to Success

  • Time of possession
  • Establish run game
  • Win on the outside

Titans Injury Report

Joshua Ezeudu (neck) is out for Sunday’s game.

Adoree’ Jackson (knee) is out for Sunday’s game.

Shane Lemieux (toe) is out for Sunday’s game.

Leonard Williams (neck) is doubtful for Sunday’s game.

Betting Models:

Spread: Eagles -7 (-115), Titans +7 (-105)

O/U 44.5 (-110)

Eagles ML: -350

ML: +260

Prediction: Eagles 28-17

I think the Eagles manage to win today. They’ve been on a hot streak and I don’t see that stopping in MetLife. As long as the Eagles defense is up to the challenge today and can stop the Giants offense, they’re good to go.
