Golf Association of Philadelphia, Steak 48 partner for ‘An Evening to Benefit’

The PGA Championship is coming to the Philadelphia region. While the action on the course will be must-watch, one of the most meaningful moments of the week is happening off it.

On Monday, May 11, 2026, the Golf Association of Philadelphia is partnering with Steak 48 for An Evening to Benefit. This is a special charity dinner where 100% of proceeds from 200 dinners will go directly to the J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship Trust, the organization’s nonprofit arm dedicated to helping young scholars access higher education.

More Than a Dinner

This isn’t just a night out during one of golf’s biggest weeks — it’s a genuine opportunity to put the sport’s reach to work for students who need it. The J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship Trust provides financial assistance, mentorship, and academic support to Platt Scholars, young people whose connection to the game of golf becomes a pathway to something much bigger.

Every dollar spent on dinner that evening goes toward that mission. No overhead carve-out. No partial proceeds. The full 100 percent.

What to Expect

Guests can expect an evening of upscale dining, networking with community leaders and philanthropists across the Philadelphia region, and remarks from the Golf Association of Philadelphia. It’s the kind of room where the conversation is good, the food is better, and the cause behind it all makes it worth showing up for.

Why It Matters

The PGA Championship draws thousands of fans, players, and spectators to the region. Events like this reminder us that the best thing a major sporting moment can do is leave something lasting behind. Supporting students. Funding education. Extending the reach of the game well past the 18th hole.

If you’re in Philadelphia this week and looking for a way to be part of the moment that actually matters beyond the leaderboard — this is it.
