NFL Hot Seat: Deshaun Watson, Harrison Butker, Jerry Jones and Nick Sirianni

These four guys are starting to piss me off.

If you’re unaware, let’s break down who each of these guys are.

The first one is the quarterback of the Cleveland Browns, Deshaun Watson. This man has been convicted of more sexual assault allegations than he has passing touchdowns with the Browns. Don’t believe me? He had seven passing touchdowns in 2022 and 2023, and only one in 2024 so far.

He has about 30+ allegations. That’s two allegations for every touchdown.

Another thing that puts Watson in the hot seat is his reaction to all of this. In the wake of Epstein, Weinstein and now Diddy, wouldn’t it be smart to just own up to your mistakes and do better? You’re tarnishing the reputation of the Cleveland Browns where there are some great guys on the team. It’s embarrassing to see Watson react how he did, and some fans supporting it.

Next, we have Jerry Jones. He is the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, who recently gave quarterback Dak Prescott a hefty paycheck just to lose in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints. If there’s any gleam of hope for the team, at least they beat the Browns in Week 1.

During the offseason, there were so many conversations about wide receiver Ceedee Lamb getting paid, and rightfully so. Lamb came off of a career-best 2023 season with 135 receptions for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. Why are you waiting on paying him what he’s worth? Him and Micah Parsons would practically be on their way to Philly the way Jones doesn’t know what he’s doing.

Harrison Butker is next, he is the kicker – arguably the least important position in football – for the Kansas City Chiefs. He’s been in the news recently for his controversial, lousy Benedictine College graduation speech in May. Feel free to hurt your ears listening to him talk about outdated traditional women values here.

Then, after scoring a game-winning field goal – which by the way, is not the way to win games – he posted about it on Instagram. I will say, the most impressive part of his post is the comments from thousands of women trolling him for his “women belong in the kitchen” type comments.

Some of my favorites are “I’m so lucky my husband let me out of the kitchen to watch the game!!!!” from @erinmslife and “Can’t wait for us to find out you play for the other team.” from @alwaysnotever. Cheeky comments all over his Instagram absolutely make my day. It must really make him wish women did stay in the kitchen. (As I write this from my kitchen.)

Lastly, this one hurts me. We have head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, Nick Sirianni. This cocky Italian may have led the Eagles to some small successes in the Hurts-Sirianni era, but unfortunately his ego being broadcasted on television is a huge turn off. Once you win back-to-back Super Bowls, I would say that’s the time to have an inflated ego, otherwise, keep it to yourself. Nothing is more annoying than a man with an ego.

At the end of the day, Sirianni needs to hold himself accountable for proper game planning, something he’s failed on in multiple games. One of the worst examples of this was the Super Bowl. Sure, Sirianni might have had a game plan, but he should have also made sure his defensive coordinator at the time, Jonathan Gannon, was more prepared for a ring than a job on a losing team.

These four guys deserve to be in the hot seat and under watch for their behavior this season. I would expect more from guys like this and it’s annoying to see them get away with all they’re able to when they truly are just not the best.
