“Thank you, five.” #WorldTheatreDay make the comments sound like winning bets for today 🤑 city of brotherly love 🦅 On this #InternationalWomensDay I want to tell you that I think about “femininity” more often than I should. Growing up as a plus size girl, often almost the *only* plus size girl, I felt less feminine in comparison to my friends and colleagues. I grappled with the idea that I have to look and be a certain something in order to present more feminine. But that’s so silly. These social constructs that we have about what is feminine and masculine are so outdated. You’re still feminine if you’re a size 18/20. You’re still feminine if you work in a man-dominated field. You’re still feminine if you’re independent. You’re still feminine even if you don’t fit the mold. You’re feminine if you identify with it. Your identity is something no one can take away from you. I’m very happy that I get to share my story in the @missamerica @missamericanj world. We’re the generation of #WomenWhoCan 💪🏻 attached to the excerpt of my poem is a poet I’ve grown up being inspired by.
