Who doesn’t love the cult classic reality television show about a bunch of strangers surviving on an island for money?
49 seasons of Survivor, and I can guarantee I’ll convince you to tune in.
Survivor 50 is in full swing after premiering Wednesday, Feb. 25. But you’re not crazy if you notice some different things.
That’s because the producers aren’t calling the shots, the fans are. With this, comes some worries – but for us, it’ll be fun to watch.
“It was terrifying to do that vote because it’s a legal vote. CBS is getting the results and saying you’re beholden to this. You just made this a vote. So they’re basically saying you’ve got to do what the votes say.” Probst said in a previous interview.
“What surprised me the most… is that it worked.”
In the season premiere, fans voted on tribe colors, rice, final four fire-making, and vote reveal and reunion. In true fan-favorite form, the fans chose for the contestants to earn their rice and supplies.
So far, orange, teal and magenta were the confirmed colors this season, representing the Cila (orange), Kalo (teal), and Vatu (magenta) tribes. Players earned their rice and supplies, and the vote reveal and reunion will be live in Los Angeles, as opposed to the other option of keeping it in Fiji.
“The theme of this season is In The Hands of the Fans… I think Survivor 50 will forever change how players embrace uncertainty. Because what you see during the season is that the players who lean into the unknown are the ones who take control.”
Tune in to Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
