After defying the elements and a hostile Mile High crowd, the New England Patriots rallied to defeat the Denver Broncos, 10-7 to punch their ticket to Super Bowl LX.
Real-potential MVP Drake “Drake Maye” Maye showcased his dual-threat ability with a key rushing touchdown, the defense forced turnovers and stops, and head coach Mike Vrabel’s squad completed their improbable road run.
A wild sequence with Broncos backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham’s fumble – where it was overturned from grounding, but no defensive TD was awarded – Maye powered into the end zone from six yards out to tie the game early.
Maye’s legs were an MVP themselves as he also had a 28-yard scramble to keep drives alive in the snow, highlighting serious mobility against an incredible defense.
The Patriots played strategic game today, with over nine minutes of play ending in a field goal, swinging momentum and extended the lead late. Favorable for the Patriots? Maybe not, but certainly not favorable for the Broncos either.
The Patriots’ physical run defense and timely stops turned the second half into a defensive masterclass, limiting the Broncos to minimal yardage and ensuring their 14-3 road-perfect record extended to the biggest stage. As the snow accumulated and the game turned into a classic grinder, Mike Vrabel’s squad showcased championship poise, converting a controversial fumble recovery into red-zone pressure and ultimately outlasting Denver’s comeback attempts.
New England finished the 2025 season at 14-3 (tied for the NFL’s best record), marking one of the biggest single-season turnarounds in league history. This was the first division title for the team since 2019 – and without the Tom Brady/Bill Belichick era since 1997. Adversity means nothing to the Patriots as they went 8-0 on the road in 2025, marking them the only team to do so.
Maye set Patriots records, including highest completion percentage at 72% and an elite passer rating of 113.5. He threw for 4,394 yards, 31 touchdowns, and just eight interceptions. He led an efficient, high-scoring offense and watched the defense shine on the field with the same energy.
The Patriots road grit is enough to help them win another Super Bowl.
The Patriots will take on the winner of the Seattle Seahawks-Los Angeles Rams NFC Championship Game in Super Bowl LX.
