Seahawks receive devastating injury news ahead of NFC Championship

The Seattle Seahawks return to the NFC Championship for the first time in 11 years.

Ahead of the matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, who beat out the Chicago Bears on their home turf, the Seahawks received heartbreaking news on Monday.

Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet suffered the knee injury against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, where he was out for the second half of Seattle’s 41-6 victory. Kenneth Walker III stepped in for 116 yards and three touchdowns.

Before the injury, Charbonnet had 184 rush attempts for 730 yards and 12 touchdowns. He had a breakout game versus the Carolina Panthers where he put up 122 yards and two touchdowns.

“Breaks your heart. He’s going to need surgery, so he’s got a good long road to come back.” Head coach Mike Macdonald said.

The Seahawks will host the Los Angeles Rams in Sunday’s NFC Championship Game.
