PRESS RELEASE: First & Jenn Cuts Pennsville From Coverage — Effective Immediately

DEEPWATER, NJ — Effective Immediately

As First & Jenn continues to grow, I’ve had to evaluate where community coverage is actually needed and where it creates real impact.

And after reviewing engagement data, local demand, story volume, and—let’s be honest—the way certain interactions have played out, I’ve made the decision to discontinue Pennsville Township as an eligible region for the Starting Lineup Awards and all future hyperlocal coverage. Effective immediately.

This choice is driven by analytics and resource allocation, yes — but also by a very simple truth: I refuse to be disrespected on my own platform for trying to uplift a town that clearly does not want, need, or appreciate the coverage.

There are South Jersey municipalities that show up with passion, pride, and participation. Towns like Hammonton, Woodstown, even Egg Harbor Township have much more love and support for its community.

These are towns that actually root for their creators, celebrate their small businesses, and bring community energy.

And then there are towns that, despite being given every opportunity, offer the enthusiasm of a folding chair at a rain delay.

I don’t hand out spotlights to places that can’t be bothered to stand in them. And I’m definitely not dragging any town across the finish line when it’s made it abundantly clear it doesn’t even want to step onto the field.

The Starting Lineup Awards were created to uplift communities where coverage is underserved and where recognition sparks momentum. Pennsville has repeatedly shown it is not that community. No demand. No engagement. No interest. No growth.

Meanwhile, many nearby towns have demonstrated higher need, stronger support, and far more willingness to participate in their own elevation. These are the communities where First & Jenn actually makes an impact — loudly, proudly, and consistently.

Pennsville had its chance — several, actually — and it chose not to participate. So I’m reallocating my energy to the places that invest back, show enthusiasm, and actually want to rise. South Jersey is full of them.

To those who have supported First & Jenn: thank you. I’m excited to highlight the towns and businesses that truly benefit from—and value—this platform. The mission continues, just without the dead weight.

Personal statement to come.
