First & Jenn Morning Coffee: You Have to Get Smart to Survive These Times

We don’t live in the same world our parents did. Back then, it felt like you could work hard, stay loyal, and build a decent life off stability alone. Now, stability is a moving target. Everything feels expensive — from groceries to peace of mind — and we’ve had to adapt just to keep up.

To survive this political climate and international tension, you have to get smart. Not in the IQ test sense, but in the way that means learning how to think, react, and adjust faster than the chaos around you. Financially, physically, mentally, and spiritually, the modern world doesn’t just reward intelligence; it requires it.

We’ve learned to stretch our paychecks and our energy in the same breath. We’ve learned how to read the fine print, how to question what’s being sold to us, and how to plan for uncertainty without falling into fear. That’s not paranoia. That’s survival.

You have to get financially efficient. Learn where your money goes and where it actually grows. You have to get physically efficient too, because energy is a resource, and you can’t keep spending it on stress. Mentally, you have to be aware enough to spot manipulation, whether it’s coming from the media or from your own inner voice. Spiritually, you have to protect your peace like it’s currency.

This isn’t about living in fear; it’s about learning to navigate with clarity. We can’t afford to be passive anymore. You either get smarter about how you move or you get consumed by everything trying to distract or divide you.

The world’s always changing, and maybe it always has been, but now awareness is survival.

So read more. Question more. Save more. Heal more.
Get smart. Stay kind. Survive with intention.
