First & Jenn Morning Coffee: Animal Crossing and the Art of Doing Nothing Productively

In case you didn’t know, I started a new daily morning discussion on First & Jenn. Check out my first one here for more information.

I started playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons again after realizing I still had access to a treasure island, which I was using to speed run my game again to get to the decorating. Then, I got the Switch 2 and restarted the entire process so I could have a second island.

I just completed the main storyline of the game, as well as completed the museum and have all of the upgrades and such for the shops. I spent about two hours completely flattening my island (mind you, doing this for the first time – why have ya’ll ever did that?) so now I get to start decorating.

In between this time, the Animal Crossing Switch 2 upgrade and 3.0 update announcement was released, so now I have a genuine reason to pick up the game again. I feel like maybe Nintendo might start to add some things to the storyline again, and I wouldn’t hate if they released more expansion-style packs.

Right now, I’m in a transitionary point in my life, so I finally get to rest without guilt. But with this guiltless rest, I still feel like I should be making some sort of productivity of my time, even if it’s productive rest.

I feel like planning and carrying out a real, near-perfect island is going to be a great way for me to enjoy my rest while also keeping my mind stimulated and my creativity there.
