Let’s face it, it’s kind of hard to make friends in this day and age. Between work and needing time for yourself, we’ve almost lost our pre-pandemic social touch with one another.
Until now.
Jhilly Social Girls, a social club started by best friends Rachel Snyder and Victoria Blackwood, is bringing women together to create lasting friendships and memories.
Stat about benefits of having a girl group.**
“It’s harder making female connections as an adult when you don’t have sports / clubs.” Snyder said.
Blackwood emphasized that sentiment.
“Women want to connect and form relationships that last a lifetime with one another and we hope to curate events that foster these connections.” she said.
Jhilly Social Girls plans to host fun, casual social events that emphasize bonding – seasonal outings, dinners, cocktails, and speed-friending. The group’s vision includes local Philly and South jersey outings, especially tied to community and sports.
But in case you’re not in the area, Snyder and Blackwood emphasized persistence and learning to be uncomfortable.
““Everytime you put yourself out there and out of your comfort zone you learn new things about yourself you wouldn’t have known if you didn’t.” Snyder said.
“Put yourself in a new environment and get comfortable being uncomfortable.” Blackwood said.
Just in case you’re not sold on the club yet, the Jhilly Social Girls co-founders settled the pork roll versus Taylor Ham debate: both call it pork roll.
To get involved, you can follow the Jhilly Social Girls Facebook, Instagram and TikTok pages. Afterwards, the co-founders stress coming to events so you can meet new friends.
Their first event will be noon on Sunday, October 5 at the 2300 Arena for a Philadelphia Eagles versus Denver Broncos watch party.
