MSI 2025 Power Rankings: Gen.G Leads a Field of International Giants

As the 2025 Mid-Season Invitational kicks off, the League of Legends world is once again bracing for high-stakes international clashes. With a slate of teams representing the very best of their regions, this year’s tournament looks more competitive than ever. From dominant Korean squads to dark horse Western challengers, the field is stacked with talent and ambition. Based on recent form, regional dominance, and historical pedigree, here’s a look at how the ten qualified teams stack up heading into the tournament.

Gen.G

At the top of the power rankings is Gen.G, the undisputed kings of the LCK. Fresh off an undefeated 18–0 regular season and with a title defense in sight, Gen.G enters MSI as the heavy favorites. With a well-rounded roster boasting superstar talent in every position, they combine pristine laning with exceptional macro play. They are not only the reigning MSI champions but also the most consistent team in the world at the moment.

Anyone’s Legend

Trailing closely behind are Anyone’s Legend, the LPL’s top seed and a squad that has rapidly risen to international prominence. Led by the dynamic mid-jungle duo of Shanks and Tarzan, AL’s coordination and teamfighting have overwhelmed domestic competition. While their international ceiling remains untested, their dominance in China makes them a credible title contender. Meanwhile, T1 returns as Korea’s second seed and reigning World Champions. Despite a bumpy start to the spring split, they’ve recovered their form just in time, spearheaded by Faker’s veteran leadership and Gumayusi’s raw firepower. T1 remains a terrifying opponent capable of beating anyone on the right day.

Bilibili Gaming

Next in line is Bilibili Gaming, the LPL’s second seed. Despite a shaky start to their season, they’ve rallied behind jungler Beichuan and top laner Bin to reclaim their footing. Their synergy is still improving, but their individual skill keeps them dangerous

Movistar KOI

Europe’s top hope, Movistar KOI, slots in just below. With a strong early game and an aggressive playstyle, KOI’s team cohesion has impressed throughout the LEC season. They may lack the mechanical ceiling of their Eastern rivals, but their discipline and tempo make them a team to watch.

Fly Quest

North America’s FlyQuest enters as the LCS champion, bringing experience and resilience in equal measure. Veterans like Bwipo and Inspired provide leadership, while their teamfighting has shown real promise. That said, they’ll need to overcome an early meeting with Gen.G to make a deep run.

CTBC Flying Oyster

Rounding out the main event are CTBC Flying Oyster, the PCS champs who have emerged as a consistent international presence. Their composure under pressure makes them a dangerous wildcard in any best-of series.

G2 Esports, FURIA and GAM Esports

G2 Esports, FURIA, and GAM Esports make up the play-in field. G2, as the LEC’s second seed, still boasts international pedigree and strong leadership from Caps. FURIA, the Latin American South champion, arrives with upset potential but little experience against elite opponents. GAM Esports, hailing from Vietnam, remains unpredictable and deadly, though their inconsistency could cost them in high-pressure matches.

With powerhouse teams and new contenders alike, MSI 2025 promises thrilling competition from start to finish. Whether Gen.G can maintain their crown or a new champion rises, one thing is certain: the road to international glory runs through the strongest MSI lineup in years.
