Netflix drops ‘Quarterback’ Season 2 coming soon

Netflix and the National Football League’s “Quarterback” series returns for a second season on July 8. The season will follow Cincinnati Bengals’ Joe Burrow, Detroit Lions’ Jared Goff and Atlanta Falcons Kirk Cousins’, who returns for another season with the new team.

Netflix dropped the trailer on Monday and the NFL promoted it on X.

The trailer features each quarterback kind of where we leave off on them in their lives: Burrow talking about the longevity of a great quarterback, Goff on high expectations after leaving the Los Angeles Rams and Cousins talking about the Falcons taking Michael Penix Jr. in the NFL Draft.

Burrow will be at the start of his fifth season with the Bengals, leading a crazy good offense despite a rocky start. In Detroit, Goff tries to take the Lions back to the playoffs following a narrow loss to the 49ers in the 2023 NFC Championship Game. Finally, Cousins returns on a new team with a chance to rebuild his legacy.

The first season of “Quarterback” was well-received by fans, but not many other quarterbacks wanted the spotlight. Thus, Netflix branched out to a spin-off called “Receiver” as well as “America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders” seeing success.

The inaugural season focused on Cousins with the Vikings, Kansas City Chiefs Patrick Mahomes and then-Falcons quarterback Marcus Mariota.
