Why the Dallas Cowboys are due for a bounce back year

The Dallas Cowboys can be one of the most intriguing teams heading into the 2025 season.

They had a disappointing season in 2024, finishing with a 7-10 record, placing third in the NFC East and missing the playoffs. The Cowboys’ last season was rattled with injuries, with star quarterback Dak Prescott missing half of the season due to a hamstring tear, Ceedee Lamb dealing with a shoulder injury throughout the year, cornerback Trevon Diggs missing most of the season because of a torn ACL, and upcoming defensive stars DeMarvion Overshown and Sam Williams suffering season-ending injuries.

This season, as training camp approaches, everyone is returning healthy. Dak Prescott, Ceedee Lamb, Trevon Diggs, DeMarvion Overshown and Sam Williams are all expected to be fully participating by the start of training camp in August.

The Cowboys also added a valuable piece alongside Ceedee Lamb by trading for star WR George Pickens, creating more opportunities for Dak Prescott to find targets other than Lamb.

The Dallas Cowboys drafted Jayden Blue, RB, out of Texas, who the Dallas Cowboys can use as a pass-catching back, particularly running a lot of screen plays with him. The offensive line has been completely revamped. The Cowboys drafted guard Tyler Booker with the 12th pick in this year’s draft, who was considered the best guard in the class.

The Dallas Cowboys will still have to compete with teams in the NFC like the Eagles, Commanders and Lions, but with one of the most active off-seasons Jerry Jones has had in recent memory, people should not underestimate the Dallas Cowboys.
