Tush Push Triumph: Eagles Shove, Packers Sob

The “Tush Push” (or “Brotherly Shove” for the Philly faithful) is the NFL’s ultimate cheat code. Jalen Hurts snaps the ball, and his linemen launch him like a human missile.

Since 2022, it’s converted 92% of short-yardage plays: 27 touchdowns, 92 first downs, including 11 scores and 32 first downs in the Eagles’ 2024 Super Bowl LIX run, capped by a 40-22 Chiefs beatdown.

It’s not a play; it’s a demolition derby.

Green Bay’s Whine Fest

The Packers got shoved into oblivion in a 22-10 wild-card loss to Philly in January 2024, but they didn’t lose to the infamous play.

Their response? A tantrum led by prez Mark Murphy, who proposed banning the play in February 2025, calling it “low-skill” and “unsafe.” After a 16-16 vote flop in April, they tried again in Minneapolis on May 21, 2025, with a broader ban on all ballcarrier pushing.

NFL owners laughed it off, 22-10 — the same score as that playoff drubbing. Coincidence? Or the universe rubbing salt in Green Bay’s wounds?

Hey, Packers, maybe try tackling instead of crying?

Smacking Down the Haters

The ban brigade’s arguments are weaker than a Wisconsin winter tan.

“It’s dangerous!” No dice. NFL data from 2022-2024 shows Tush Push plays have a 0.8% injury rate, lower than goal-line plays (1.2%). It’s safer than a receiver getting smoked over the middle. Save the safety talk for actual problems.

“It’s low-skill!” Low-skill? Philly’s O-line syncs up like a Broadway chorus line. Other teams like the Dolphins (68% conversion) and Bills (71%) try it and fail. It’s not the play; it’s your sorry execution.

“It slows the game!” Wrong again. Tush Push plays average 6.2 seconds (NFL Next Gen Stats, 2024), faster than passing plays (7.1 seconds). Want slow? Check your huddle fumbles.

Rivalry on Blast

The Eagles’ 22-10 playoff win over Green Bay was a masterclass, with three short-yardage Tush Push conversions, including a soul-crushing fourth-and-1.

Philly soared to the Super Bowl; the Packers went home to draft their ban proposal. This isn’t about the play—it’s about Green Bay’s bruised ego.

Shove On, Philly

The Tush Push lives, and Eagles fans are living their best life. The Packers can keep whining, but Philly’s O-line and Hurts aren’t slowing down.

The ban brigade needs to hit the gym or get used to losing. The Brotherly Shove is here to stay, and it’s glorious.us.
