A new Sims 4 pack survey unveiled some long-awaited items and a future of fun for expansion packs down the road. The survey featured seven potential expansion pack ideas, most revolving around the idea of community gameplay and cars.
Here are the new pack ideas and why they’re gold (or they suck.)
The Sims 4 Ocean Exploration

Wake up to salty breezes and the rhythmic call of the waves aboard your decked-out houseboat. Stroll the shore, metal detector in hand, searching for glimmers of hidden fortune. Turn washed-up wonders into handcrafted art, or take to the sea as captain of your own adventure—crabbing, fishing, and leading unforgettable expeditions. Dive deep into dazzling marine worlds, uncovering lost relics and buried secrets. Stock a thriving aquarium, restore ancient artifacts, and decide their fate—museum masterpiece, auction goldmine, or a deal with the devil in the world of black-market treasures. The ocean is your playground—what will you claim?
My Thoughts
• Would work best as a game pack rather than a full expansion.
• Has huge crossover potential with Island Living—could expand Sulani’s waters, add deeper diving mechanics, and give mermaids more depth.
• Love the metal detecting and artifact restoration features—great for collectors and treasure hunters.
The Sims 4 Community Careers

This pack introduces active, community-focused careers where Sims can become firefighters, EMTs, hairstylists, or dentists. Tackle emergencies, from house fires to stuck toddlers, or run a salon that evolves from home haircuts to a hub of style and gossip. Open a dentist office to fix smiles with braces, grills, and extractions. Whether saving the day or shaping the neighborhood, Sims can build careers that bring the community together.
My Thoughts
• Would pair perfectly with the upcoming Businesses and Hobbies pack, allowing Sims to train and open their own shops.
• The firefighter/EMT career brings classic Sims-style chaos and emergencies.
• The salon career could be a storytelling goldmine, from small-town gossip hubs to high-end makeover studios.
The Sims 4 Car Life

This pack brings cars into every stage of a Sim’s life, from childhood toy collections to professional racing. Kids can spark a love for cars with RC racing and gearhead clubs, while teens learn to drive and gain independence. Sims can enjoy drive-in movies, romantic scenic overlooks, and careers in mechanics, sales, or racing. With gig work, luxury cars, and even celebrity limos, every Sim can find their perfect ride. The world could be inspired by Indianapolis, the Racing Capital of the World, to fully embrace the high-speed lifestyle.
My Thoughts
• Absolutely love everything about this pack—it adds depth to Sims’ lives at all ages.
Drive-in theaters and scenic overlooks bring nostalgic and romantic gameplay.
• Driving should have skill progression, with learning curves, potential accidents, and personality-based driving styles.
The Sims 4 Work on Wheels

This pack brings mobile businesses to The Sims, letting Sims turn trucks into food stands, mobile salons, or even party buses. Players can customize and upgrade their vehicles, tackle business challenges like maintenance and competition, and boost their brand at festivals and events. Kids can join in with a playset, while teens can help out with marketing and register work. Whether selling food, styling hair, or throwing parties on wheels, every day is a new adventure.
My Thoughts
• Love the concept of mobile businesses—adds flexibility and creativity to careers.
• Challenges like vehicle maintenance and competition add realism and depth.
• The pack needs meaningful gameplay depth, not just reskinned retail mechanics.
The Sims 4 Reality TV

Step into the drama-filled world of reality TV, where Sims compete for fame and fortune while navigating alliances, rivalries, and intense challenges. From baking competitions to physical trials and social experiments, every moment shapes their journey. Sims earn points based on performance and audience approval, leading to friendships, feuds, or self-discovery by the season’s end.
My Thoughts
• Audience approval ratings bring an interactive, unpredictable element.
• Potential for cross-pack play—celebrities from Get Famous, romance from Love Island-style challenges (Island Living), and rivalries with mean Sims.
• Needs long-term replay value—different seasons should feel unique.
The Sims 4 Suburban Living

Immerse yourself in the chaos and charm of suburban life, where your Sims can attend trade school to master skills like cosmetology, auto mechanics, and homemaking. Own a gas station and mechanic shop, teach teens to fix cars, or take on odd jobs like fry cook or tutor. Weekends bring relaxation or tackling that never-ending to-do list, like mowing the lawn or enjoying time with neighbors. But underneath the perfect suburban exterior, dark secrets and hidden relationships lurk, testing the boundaries of idealism and secrecy.
My Thoughts
• Trade schools add depth with unique career paths and skill-building.
• Neighborhood interactions bring fun drama, from lawn mowing to neighborly gossip.
• Could use more interactive neighborhood drama with deeper consequences for secrets and crimes.
The Sims 4 Van Life

Set off on a journey of self-discovery in your fully-customized dream travel van, exploring diverse destinations and embracing the minimalist road life. Encounter quirky characters at truck stops, campgrounds, and scenic spots, swapping stories, jamming on new instruments, and learning crafts or recipes. Tackle road challenges like flat tires or refueling, all while waking up to new, stunning locations like beaches and national parks. Whether solo or with loved ones, this adventure will create rich, generational stories of freedom and wanderlust.
My Thoughts
• Challenges on the road, like repairs and fueling, add realism.
• Social interactions with strangers, music, and shared experiences bring depth.
• Limited depth for long-term journeys; would love more impact from choices along the way.
Simmers were also asked, “Of the potential pack features, which feel the most essential to make this pack worthwhile?” (Surveyees picked up to 2): Lawn Mowing and Care, Cosmetologist Career, Auto Mechanic Career, Truck Driver, Gas Station Venue, Mechanics Shop Venue, Home Garage, Fast Food Venue (with Drive-Thru), Auto Repair Skill, Teen Careers, Neighborhood Drama & Secrets, Criminal Activities.
My Thoughts
The Auto Mechanic Career gives players a solid, interactive, and long-term career path with room for personal growth and business management. Neighborhood Drama & Secrets creates the kind of layered, unpredictable storytelling that adds a deeper emotional hook and engagement factor, driving player investment in the world. Just for my own love of the game, I would also want the Cosmetologist Career with a customizable makeup option (like we’re getting with tattoos).
