PHILADELPHIA, PA- December 9, 2024: Rodney McLeod Jr., former Philadelphia Eagles safety and Super Bowl Champion, now with the Cleveland Browns, and his wife Erika McLeod, co-founder of the Change Our Future Foundation, are spreading holiday joy in the Philadelphia community today with their 5th Annual 12 Days of Christmas Fill-a-Cart Giveaway!
The McLeods will make the holidays a little brighter for 15 deserving Philadelphia families who will enjoy a $500 Target shopping spree, courtesy of the Change Our Future Foundation! The event will take place today, Monday, December 9, 2024, from 5:30PM–7:00PM at Target (Art Museum), located at 2001 Pennsylvania Ave, in Philadelphia. Rodney and Erika McLeod, along with their NFL friends, will help families ‘Fill-a-Cart’, take photos, and share the magic of the season with each family at the heartfelt giveaway.
“Christmas is one of our favorite holidays and Fill-a-Cart is one of our favorite initiatives,” said Erika McLeod, co-founder of the Change Our Future Foundation. “The holidays are such a joyful time, but they can be really challenging for families who are struggling. It does our hearts good to be able to give families in the Philadelphia community the opportunity to fill their shopping cart with whatever they need, from basic necessities like food and clothes to toys for the kids, to make this holiday a little brighter for them.”
“This initiative allows us to give back to the Philadelphia community that has meant so much to me and my family,” added Rodney McLeod. “It’s a chance to spread love, kindness, and joy to families who need it most right now.”
McLeod, a 13-year NFL veteran safety who played for the Eagles from 2017-2021, and Erika, his wife, hold a special place in their hearts for the Philadelphia community. They co-founded the Change Our Future nonprofit in 2020 with the mission of supporting families and empowering underserved youth through education, mentorship, literacy programs, health initiatives, and community enrichment.
Since its inception, the organization has made significant strides in giving back to the Philadelphia community through events and youth initiatives like Next Man Up, S.T.E.A.M. Fusion and City Tour, their annual Sneaker Ball,I Am Youth Leadership Summit and annual holiday initiatives like the Thanksgiving Turkey and 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways! Since its launch, the 12 Days of Christmas Fill-a-Cart Giveaway has impacted over 3,000 people across the U.S. and beyond! With the support of charitable business partners and donors, Change Our Future has provided food, resources, and a little holiday magic, to thousands of families in need across Philadelphia, Cleveland, Indianapolis, and Maryland.
