5 NFL questions that should’ve been asked in the 2024 presidential debate

Now that the dust is settling on the first presidential debate between Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, let’s talk about what issues they should have covered: football.

It’s no surprise that with the debate being held in Philadelphia, PA at the Constitution Center, having football-related questions would have been a lighthearted change of pace from the pet-eating, trans-operations on illegal aliens in prison nonsense.

If given the opportunity, here are five questions I would propose to each candidate.

1. When will Jonathan Gannon and The Sodfather be penalized for their behavior in Super Bowl 57?

No Eagles fan wants to relive this, but it was such a tumultuously bad time to be a Philadelphia fan during Super Bowl 57. With then-defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon’s poor planning and The Sodfather’s terrible field preparation, it seems only right that they should face some sort of penalty for the carelessness that contributed to the Eagles loss to the Chiefs.

2. What would you do to handle the Deshaun Watson problem?

Years later, Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is in the spotlight again for not the right reasons. At this point, the man has more allegations and lawsuits than he does passing touchdowns. I want to know how Harris or Trump would take care of the Watson issue and, hopefully, make an example out of him for the rest of the country to not be that stupid consistently.

3. Do you support moving the Cowboys to the USFL?

The Dallas Cowboys are a criminally terrible team. Once playoffs roll around, the Cowboys consistently know how to choke. I want to know if either candidate would support the idea of moving “America’s Team” to the minor leagues in exchange for, say, the Philadelphia Stars in the NFL.

4. What will you do for the players and coaches about to be unemployed by Week 5?

I know one week into the 2024 season is not enough time to make a cohesive decision about what players and coaches are on the chopping block after this season, but I can tell you Giants quarterback, Daniel Jones, is on that list. Would either candidate have a plan to support these soon-to-be unemployed talents in the NFL?

5. Are you pro- or anti-Roger Goodell?

Lastly, in my opinion a far more important question than anything else, do the candidates support NFL commissioner Roger Goodell? Their answer would tell me everything I need to know about them as a person. This might be an unpopular opinion, but this definitely would be a Top 5 influential factor for me to decide who I want to vote for.
