
For those who love Sims 4 and have followed along with LilSimsie’s YouTube Channel, you might be familiar with something called a “legacy challenge.”
Basically, players begin with a single Sim and guide their family through multiple generations with specific goals and rules for each generation. The purpose of these challenges are for Simmers to explore various aspects of the game over a long period of time.
Given the nature of this website, I’ve decided to write my own legacy challenge. This is the Sims 4 Sports Legacy Challenge, where you’ll explore athletics in five generations during gameplay.

Generation 1: The Athlete
Traits: Active, Self-Assured, Ambitious
Aspiration: Bodybuilder
Career: Athlete (Professional Athlete Branch)
Backstory: You’ve always been the star athlete in your town. From the track to the gym, your dedication and talent are unparalleled.
Goals:
- Reach the top of the Athlete career, specializing in the Professional Athlete branch.
- Max out the Fitness and Charisma skills.
- Establish and maintain friendships with at least five other Sims, symbolizing strong team chemistry.
- Host at least five house parties, each earning a gold rating.
- Get married and have a child. Ensure your child completes their homework regularly.
Rules:
- Maintain a strict daily workout routine, exercising every day.
- Participate in and win at least three athletic competitions or events.
Generation 2: The Coach
Traits: Perfectionist, Neat, Family-Oriented
Aspiration: Successful Lineage
Career: Education (Professor Branch)
Backstory: With a successful sports career behind you, you decide to nurture the next generation by becoming a coach and teacher.
Goals:
- Reach the top of the Education career, focusing on the Professor branch.
- Max out the Logic and Parenting skills.
- Mentor at least three children, including your own, in any skill or hobby.
- Have three children and ensure all of them achieve an A in school.
Rules:
- Spend at least four hours a week on skill-building with your children.
- Organize regular family gatherings to maintain strong familial bonds.
Generation 3: The Sports Journalist
Traits: Cheerful, Outgoing, Ambitious
Aspiration: Bestselling Author
Career: Writer (Journalist Branch)
Backstory: You’ve always loved the stories behind the games. Now, you seek to tell those stories and uncover the hidden gems in the sports world.
Goals:
- Reach the top of the Writer career, specializing in the Journalist branch.
- Max out the Writing and Charisma skills.
- Write and publish at least five sports-related books, including one biography of a sports star.
- Become friends with at least ten Sims and have at least three best friends.
Rules:
- Attend and cover at least five in-game sports events or competitions.
- Use the “Discuss Sports” interaction whenever possible to build relationships.
Generation 4: The Wellness Guru
Traits: Athletic, Loves Outdoors, Cheerful
Aspiration: Wellness
Career: Freelancer (Fitness Guru)
Backstory: You have a passion for all things health and fitness, and you’re determined to help others find their best selves through exercise and wellness.
Goals:
- Max out the Fitness and Wellness skills.
- Complete the Bodybuilder aspiration.
- Own and operate a successful home gym or fitness center.
- Mentor at least three Sims in fitness or wellness.
Rules:
- Must work out or engage in a fitness activity daily.
- Host at least five yoga classes or personal training sessions.
Generation 5: The Equestrian
Traits: Loves Outdoors, Animal Lover, Adventurous
Aspiration: Country Caretaker
Career: Self-Employed (Equestrian Trainer)
Backstory: You’ve always had a deep connection with animals, and horses, in particular, have been your passion. You dream of running your own stable and competing in equestrian events.
Goals:
- Max out the Riding and Fitness skills.
- Complete the Country Caretaker aspiration.
- Own at least two horses and compete in at least five equestrian competitions.
- Mentor your child or another Sim in horse care and riding.
Rules:
- Spend at least two days a week caring for and training horses.
- Organize at least one equestrian event or show per season.
