Travis Kelce has become the most followed Kansas City Chiefs player on Instagram, a new study has revealed.
Sports analytics provider Tips.gg analyzed the Instagram accounts of both Travis Kelce and teammate Patrick Mahomes.
Kelce gained 256,849 new followers on Instagram in the week following appearances at girlfriend Taylor Swift’s Eras tour concerts in both London and Dublin.
These increases bring his overall follower count to 6,817,289, overtaking Mahomes, who has 6,798,636 on the platform. This makes him the most popular Chiefs player on Instagram at the time of writing.
Researchers compared Kelce’s current following to the most-followed NFL players of 2023, according to Boardroom, and found that Kelce now ranks second behind Odell Beckham Jr., who has 17,610,620 Instagram followers.
Anton Malyutin, Founder and CEO of Tips.gg, commented on the figures: “It’s no secret that Travis Kelce’s popularity has skyrocketed globally over the last year, partly down to his crucial role in the Chiefs back-to-back Super Bowl wins and his romance with popstar Taylor Swift.
