Last week, the Sims 4 dropped two more kits for Simmers to enjoy more depth with gameplay. “Party Essentials” is a build kit with a disco ball, ribbons and balloons to appropriately decorate events as they happen. The other, a stylish fashion kit, is called “Urban Homage.” Arguably, I think these kits kind of coincide with previous packs. “Party Essentials” I think would be great with any event-heavy pack, and “Urban Homage” fits in perfectly with the “City Living” Expansion Pack.
There were some mixed feelings about the party kit for its lack of gameplay. However, I think the streamers, disco ball and new invisible dance floor is perfect for adding depth to the game. As far as the new CAS kit is concerned, there have been genuinely optimistic thoughts.
Urban Homage Kit: ☆★★★★
Two standout features of the “Urban Homage” kit that I love is the jersey top. As a football fan, this is such a cute addition and I know I’m going to be using it more.
I also like the new bodysuit that can be layered nicely with any bottoms.
There is also a new hair wrap, in my opinion is way cuter than what we’ve had before, and it comes in a variety of colors.
I love the new jewelry that comes with this pack and how it can match other jewelry items (nose ring with the necklace, necklace with the earrings, etc.) I’m not crazy about the nails, I think they’re cute but my preference falls in lighter colors, which I wish there was more of.
Party Essentials Kit: ☆☆★★★
You’re not going to find a shortage of swatches in this kit. Each item in the kit falls into two color categories: seemingly metallics and rainbow. The thing I think I love most in this kit is the new disco ball which has a beautiful effect in-game.
Other things that really make this pack what it is is the glitter on the floor, streamers and balloons. It comes with a bar that doubles as a shelf which is going to fit in a lot better with the homes.
There are two new little decorations, a snack station and a drink station. Neither one of these decorations are usable, but they are cute.
You can buy the Party Essentials room set in the game for over 20,000 simoleons. Finally, it comes with a handful of neon signs and lights, something I’ve always been a fan of in my builds since they were first introduced.
Needless to say, I love these two kits and I think they provide depth to the game. Oftentimes, Simmers forget that not all packs are going to be big. We’ve been spoiled with many packs in 2023, and we’ll definitely see more this year.
