Football and philanthropy come together for the sixth year for the Super Soul Party, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting and including the unhoused community in societal events. These parties will offer a unique opportunity for people experiencing homelessness to enjoy a meal, a haircut, and socialize during the Super Bowl.
Founded by Meir Kay, a film director, breathwork facilitator, and social activist, Super Soul Party emerged from a simple act of kindness in 2017. When Meir encountered a man in Midtown Manhattan asking to be seen, rather than looking for money or food, he responded with attention, care, and a hot meal. This encounter became the catalyst for Super Bowl parties for people without homes, aiming to break down barriers and foster community inclusion.
The title sponsor, Hanes Brands, has been a significant supporter of this initiative. In a historic first for the company, Hanes partnered with Super Soul Party to distribute ‘dignity bags’ filled with socks, sweatshirts, and other essentials to 500 homeless attendees at parties across the country in 2023.
Nicole Ducouer, Director of Corporate Communications and Community Engagement at Hanes Brands, expressed admiration for the authenticity of Super Soul Party’s mission and emphasized Hanes’ commitment to comfort, inclusion, and health. The collaboration between Hanes and Super Soul Party is an embodiment of Hanes’ dedication to creating a more comfortable world and strengthening communities through its ‘Hanes for Good’ program.
Parties will be held across the country with locations in Los Angeles, Houston, Baltimore, Seattle, Dallas, Winston-Salem, Miami, New Orleans, Dener, San Francisco, Portland, San Jose, Oakland, Chester, Philadelphia, Milwaukee and Alexandria.
The Super Soul Party will celebrate one of sports’ biggest days of the year while giving back to a major issue plaguing the country.
