The ALCS continues today with the Texas Rangers trying to take back their early lead against the Houston Astros. The Astros took two in Rangers territory following Thursday’s Astros win, 10-3. The series is currently tied, each team taking two wins on the road, 2-2.
Much like in Game 3, the Astros ran away with a lead in Game 4 and never looked back. The Astros scored three runs in the first inning and the Rangers spent the next two innings answering, but were shut out for the remainder of the game.
Game 5 of the ALCS starts at 5:07 PM on FSI. Game 4 of the NLCS between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Arizona Diamondbacks continues today at 8:07 PM on TBS.
BetMGM has the Rangers as the favorites at (-115) and the Astros at (-105). Here are some good bets for today’s Game 5.
Total O 9 Runs (-105)
The past two games at the Rangers, we’ve seen high-scoring games between the Rangers and Astros. This over hit in both games, so I think it will hit today.
J. Verlander O 8+ Ks (+425)
I know this is an out there bet, but with Verlander on the mound, I genuinely believe he’ll get at least eight strikeouts. If the Astros continue to have this fire, then Verlander is going to deliver tonight.
Rangers ML (-115)
On the flip side, I think the Rangers extend their lead. The past two home games for them were not ideal, but I think they manage to get it right tonight before going back to Houston.
