The Sims 4 is days away from releasing a long-awaited horses pack. While this world will bring some Western vibes to the game like we’ve seen with Strangerville and Oasis Springs, this marks the perfect time to rank the current residential worlds
20. Magnolia Promenade – Get to Work

The Low Down: Magnolia Promenade from the “Get to Work” pack is a quiet, 4-lot world with three retail stores and one open lot.
What Hot: This is one of the first packs in the Sims 4 era, so I’m not giving them a lot of slack that other people would rank this world lowly. I love the open lot in this world because I use it oftentimes as a different community lot, like a club or cafe.
What’s Not: However, it is kind of boring and small for being a world about Sims going to work.
I’d Love to See This: I think it would be awesome to see a future update on the pack to include the hospital, science lab and police station on the lot.
Overall Rating: ★☆☆☆☆
19. Forgotten Hollow – Vampires

The Low Down: Forgotten Hollow is a spooky, 5-lot world from the “Vampires” game pack.
What’s Hot: The world is on theme, but barely. Compared to the Werewolves world, “Forgotten Hollow” has a lot of missed potential.
What’s Not: The world is also kind of small, but considering it’s a game pack that is also understandable. I’d also emphasize the “forgotten” part of this world because it’s easily missed.
I’d Love to See This: It would be cool to see the opportunity to download a vampire community/hang out spot.
Overall Rating: ★☆☆☆☆
18. Del Sol Valley – Get Famous

The Low Down: This star-studded world from the “Get Famous” expansion pack
What Hot: The lots are bigger than some of the other packs.
What’s Not: The world is a lot smaller than others in terms of being an expansion pack.
Overall Rating: ★★☆☆☆
17. Newcrest – Base Game

The Low Down: This base game world is a canvas waiting to be painted. It houses three neighborhoods with fifteen lots.
What Hot: I think this world is wonderful – if you have the other packs to put cafes, clubs and retail stores in this world. Ultimately, what is great about this world is the unlimited opportunities.
What’s Not: On the flip side, this world is also easy to miss because it doesn’t have anything.
I’d Love to See This: This world probably would’ve been best served after buying your first game or expansion pack, allowing for more use of the world.
Overall Rating: ★★☆☆☆
16. Strangerville – Strangerville

The Low Down: This small, strange world from the “Strangerville” game pack holds two neighborhoods with 12 lots that change with its gameplay.
What Hot: I love the trailer park lot in this world. There’s nothing else like this in any of the worlds and I love its character.
What’s Not: Speaking of character, this world is also kind of boring unless you play the storyline. I don’t think I’ve ever played it in full.
I’d Love to See This: It would be kind of cool to have the option to turn on or turn off the storyline in the town. I don’t know how much of a difference this would make but being able to use the world without playing the story would be cool.
Overall Rating: ★★★☆☆
15. Glimmerbrook – Realm of Magic

The Low Down: “Realm of Magic’s” magical world Glimmerbrook not only has a Magic Realm but also one neighborhood with five lots.
What Hot: The Realm part of Glimmerbrook is incredible and beautiful. I like this touch to the game for the Wizard Sims to go to that’s not in the world.
What’s Not: I’m upset that this world is so small because it is absolutely beautiful.
Overall Rating: ★★★☆☆
14. Moonwood Mill – Werewolves

The Low Down: This mystical world from the “Werewolves” game pack has one neighborhood with five lots. It also contains climbable mountains, a tunnel and a wolf pack hangout spot.
What Hot: The wolf pack hangout spot is awesome and the small characters of this world is so cool.
What’s Not: I wish there was another lot in the world because it is quite small.
Overall Rating: ★★★☆☆
13. Oasis Springs – Base Game

The Low Down: This desert world has five neighborhoods with 21 lots for Sims to enjoy the warm sand and scenery.
What’s Hot: This world houses a variety of open lots, residential lots and community spots for Sims.
What’s Not: The world is easily overlooked if you have other packs.
Overall Rating: ★★★☆☆
12. Willow Creek – Base Game

The Low Down: This foresty base game world has five neighborhoods with 21 lots for any Sims to interact with each other.
What Hot: This is another base game world that has endless possibilities for the things your Sims can do.
What’s Not: This world could also be easily overlooked if you have other packs.
Overall Rating: ★★★☆☆
11. Brindleton Bay – Cats & Dogs

The Low Down: The “Cats & Dogs” countryside has four neighborhoods and 16 lots.
What Hot: The lots by the river are beautiful and so full of character. The mansion in this world is also stunning. If you’re not a fan of the mansion, you can also bulldoze the lot and make it into something your Sim would use – especially since there’s a lot of space.
What’s Not: It’s kind of basic. There’s not much to do in this world except use the veterinarian services, everything else can be found in other worlds.
I’d Love to See This: A lot type for training pets. This particular lot type or trait would include faster skill increase for animal-related interactions in the Sims.
Overall Rating: ★★★☆☆
10. Brichester – Discover University

The Low Down: The studious “Discover University” world Brichester has three neighborhoods with nine lots – including four dorms.
What Hot: This is the first time Sims are introduced to dorms, and the dorm lots are customizable. There are also two universities in this world which I love the variety.
What’s Not: The Foxbury Commons lot is kind of dull and is due for a facelift.
I’d Love to See This: Add the ability to have food preparation available in the dorms. A nice summer BBQ at college would be epic.
Overall Rating: ★★★★☆
9. Tartosa – Wedding Stories

The Low Down: This romantically beautiful “Wedding Stories” game pack world has two neighorhoods with nine lots. It also has a cozy town square with stalls.
What Hot: This world is beautiful with a bunch of off-the-lot spaces your Sim can explore.
What’s Not: For a world as beautiful as this, I wish it were bigger.
Overall Rating: ★★★★☆
8. San Sequoia – Growing Together

The Low Down: The “Growing Together” homely world has 3 neighborhoods and 12 lots for any Sim family to grow.
What Hot: This world fits the theme of the pack so well. The different neighborhoods and amenities are so spot on for the characteristics of the pack.
What’s Not: The Rec Center is due for an upgrade, it’s kind of dull.
Overall Rating: ★★★★☆
7. San Myshuno – City Living

The Low Down: This bustling city of the “City Living” expansion pack has four neighborhoods and six lots. It also houses 21 apartments, including three penthouses.
What Hot: This world is unlike anything the Sims 4 game has seen. We’re introduced to a variety of apartment options and penthouses.
What’s Not: The inability to move windows can be frustrating if you’re remodeling the apartment.
I’d Love to See This: EA, please let us move the windows. I understand this is based on real life apartment experiences, but it’s hard to move windows on real-life houses. Just let us move apartment windows.
Overall Rating: ★★★★☆
6. Mt. Komorebi – Snowy Escape

The Low Down: This snowy mountainside in the “Snowy Escape” pack has three neighborhoods and 14 lots – including a lot with a ski and snowboard slope.
What Hot: The rentals in this world are absolutely stunning. The little details of this world are probably one of the best in all the packs and worlds.
What’s Not: I wish the ski slope was a separate lot that Sims could just travel to.
Overall Rating: ★★★★☆
5. Copperdale – High School Years

The Low Down: This eccentric town in the “High School Years” expansion pack includes three neighborhoods with 12 lots.
What Hot: Speaking of worlds with a lot of character, Copperdale screams high school world for the Sims. I’m very impressed with the level of detail and the characteristics of this pack.
What’s Not: That being said, one thing they could’ve done was add a rival high school, similar to Discover University. The option to have a rival high school would have made some of the current interactions in the world so much better.
Overall Rating: ★★★★☆
4. Sulani – Island Living

The Low Down: This beautiful island world from “Island Living” has three neighborhoods with 14 lots.
What Hot: This world is also unlike the rest in the Sims 4. Each island lot has its own character and the lots are a decent size to give you space to build a great building on the beach.
What’s Not: Since this pack introduces occult Sims, I would have loved to see something in this world dedicated to mermaids.
Overall Rating: ★★★★☆
3. Evergreen Harbor – Eco Lifestyle

The Low Down: Sims stay eco-friendly in Evergreen Harbor, which has three neighborhoods that change with gameplay, 11 lots and two apartments.
What Hot: The apartments in this world contrast the ones in San Myshuno nicely, offering bigger spaces that otherwise would be equivalent to a penthouse in the “City Living” pack.
What’s Not: Nothing.
Overall Rating: ★★★★☆
2. Windenberg – Get Together

The Low Down: This hot spot world in “Get Together” has four neighborhoods with 27 different lots.
What Hot: Like the base game worlds, Windenberg is full of things for your Sim to do and offers a variety of lots. This world screams “Get Together.”
What’s Not: Nothing.
Overall Rating: ★★★★★
1. Henford-On-Bagley – Cottage Living

The Low Down: This cottage countryside from the “Cottage Living” expansion pack has three neighborhoods with 12 lots, a community space and stalls.
What Hot: This world has everything a farmer simulation gamer would love. As someone who’s grown up in this kind of southern style, I adore everything about this world. I also love how open the town is near the bar.
What’s Not: Nothing.
I’d Love to See This: Anyone who wins a ribbon during the fair gets to compete at the end of a season in a two-day fair competition.
Overall Rating: ★★★★★
