Happy NFL Schedule Release Day to those who celebrate.

No seriously, I’m really just eagerly waiting for the NFL season to come back.

Until that day arrives, and now we can actually count down, here are my favorite QB matchups/games for next season.

1. Buffalo Bills vs. Kansas City Chiefs: The Playoff Rematch

When: October 16, 2022 @ 4:25 p.m.

Notes: We know this game. The game that was decided by a coin flip. The AFC Divisional round in 2021. Both teams went into halftime tied, ended the game tied and ultimately the Kansas City Chiefs won. I’m so excited for this game because I just *know* the Bills will be out for blood. I’m rooting for a great game, but I think the Bills will take the win this time.

Prediction: Bills 37-31

2. Cleveland Browns vs. Houston Texans: All Eyes on Watson

When: December 4, 2022 @ 1:00 p.m.

Notes: I’m not sure what Deshaun Watson’s legal situation is going to look like or if his suspension will last that long, but if it doesn’t and he does play this game, that’s going to be an interesting one. I always love a good QB vs old team game (see below), but something about this game is going to feel different. If Watson is playing, I see the Browns winning.

Prediction: Browns 31-24

3. Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Commanders: Carson Wentz Reunion

When: November 14, 2022 @ 8:15 p.m.

Notes: This one, like mentioned above, is one I’m looking forward to. I’m rooting for Carson Wentz to have a good season, and with the way the Commanders have been able to slowly fix their mistakes over the years, I think they can manage in this season. I’m most looking forward to when Wentz returns to the Linc in week 10 to face his former backup quarterback. Either way, it just feels like there’s too much on the line for the Eagles to NOT win this game no matter who’s “commanding” the Commanders.

Prediction: Eagles 28-24

3.a. Washington Commanders vs. Indianapolis Colts: Carson Wentz Reunion Pt. 2

When: October 30, 2022 @ 4:25 p.m.

Notes: For the exact same reasons as above, I’m really looking forward to Wentz facing his other former team. It’s going to be an interesting game, for sure, but I think it’s going to be a fun one for Wentz especially if he can correct his mistakes from Indy. Whoever will be matching up with Jonathan Taylor better be ready, that guy is gonna help keep the Colts on top, especially in this game.

Prediction: Colts 28-21

3.b. Indianapolis Colts vs. Philadelphia Eagles: The Ghost of Wentz

When: November 20, 2022 @ 1:00 p.m.

Notes: About a week later from the Commanders, the Eagles will face Indy and the Ghost of Wentz. If the NFL had some sort of weird love triangle, it would be this. I’m looking forward to this game and I think the Slay-Taylor matchup is gonna be a fun one to watch. Frank Reich also gets to see his former team again, so there’s going to be a lot of emotions in this game. I want the Birds to win, but I think it’s going to be close and that Jonathan Taylor just gets it done for his team.

Prediction: Colts 31-24

4. Green Bay Packers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: GB and TB12

When: September 25, 2022 @ 4:25 p.m.

Notes: This is going to be one HELL of a matchup. Two goats playing against each other and it’s NOT in primetime??? But anyway, I just know this is going to be a close game. It’s going to be so fun watching both teams battling it out. It feels like, and please comment below if I’m wrong, both teams had lukewarm drafts this year, so they’re pretty much on level playing fields. Aaron Rodgers is going to work around any issues on the field and Tom Brady is going to continue to dominate. I really wish this game was a primetime game.

Prediction: Buccaneers 31-27

5. New York Jets vs. Jacksonville Jaguars: QBs of the Future

When: December 22, 2022 @ 8:15 p.m.

Notes: We move from HOF QBs to the next generation of NFL quarterbacks. A couple of former first round picks duking it out on the field will be fun to watch. The Jets had an incredible draft this year, so it will definitely add to their chances of winning. For that reason, I’ve got them winning this game, but it will definitely be close.

Prediction: Jets 24-21
